PERSON , is the story of a man who lives in the black infinite of
a heathland, amongst the wooden skeletons of a totally destroyed town.
It
tells the story of a madman whom society does not want to listen to
and wants to prevent from speaking an unbearable truth. Filmed completely
in Iceland, the video tells of the innocent Icelandic children who
wait patiently from high up in a look-out to watch the life of a man
(who seems normal), abandoned in a heath land of volcanos and lavic
land, from a pair of steel binoculars . The video concentrates on
the concept of
"observing", in fact, the children watch the man in astonishment
and he, in turn, observes the civilisation, which observes him. Person
tries to
express that constant tension which exists in the eyes of who watches
and whom feels watched; it investigates, without judging, into the
heart of
our most private emotions. The video installation is accompanied by
music composed in Iceland and comes from a sample of sounds of stone,
water and natural elements from this country.
